CDC*CT Performs at Washington Wizards game

On January 6 some members of our Competition Team performed our new production Whitney. The kids had a great time warming up under the stadium seats.When it came time to perform, the rocked out to the Whitney Houston Medley. It was such a fun experience for the teachers, families and the dancers. Everyone had a great time!!


February 25 and 26th some of the top hip hop professionals will be at our South Riding Studio to teach an awesome hip hop workshop. Admission to the workshop is $195 due by January 20. Times TBD

Scheduled to teach are Kate Gray, Hannah Gallagher, Brain Watson and Alvin Ramirez

7th Winter Benefit Dance Performance  .

The Institute of Performing Arts for Youth presents the 2017 Winter Benefit Performance to support The Malone Scholarship Foundation, The Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, and Paxton Campus.  

Dance performances by Creative Dance Center’s Classical Conservatory, Competition Team, Stars, and Performing Troupe will entertain families and dance enthusiasts alike with Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Tap.  Come out for an evening of dance to benefit these local charities.

Saturday, Feb. 4th, 6:00 pm at Stone Bridge High School, 43100 Hay Rd, Ashburn.,


Tickets: $20 online or at Creative Dance Center Studios in advance,,

$25 at the door.

Stars Scores Big at their First Competition

Stars killed it last weekend in Ocean City at Cheer & Dance Extreme. It was their first competition of the season and they came away with lots of bling!! . Four first places, four second places and a bid to Worlds!

This year's Nutcracker was a Smashing (Walnuts) Success!

Through our raffle of holiday, team, teacher, and nutcracker character themed baskets and trees Creative Dance Center raised $3500 for the Smashing Walnuts Foundation!!


Some of our Nutcracker kids attended the One Loudoun Tree Lighting and got to meet Ellyn Miller of Smashing Walnuts while they were mixing and mingling in the holiday crowd.


CDC Competition Team's Coat Drive and Sponsored Toy Drive shows overwhelming genorousity

CDC*CT's Our Neighbor's Child Coat Collection and sponsored Toy Drive were both huge successes!!


We collected NEW winter coats.for local families who are requesting a warm coat for the holidays over the course of 2 weeks. The Competition Team also sponsored a Toy Drive outside of the Chantilly Walmart on Saturday December 3. 


Our team families donated 60 coats for families in need and the Toy Drive got enough toy donations to fill 3 1/2 SUV carloads!! 

What a great way to give back to the community and spread holiday cheer!!

Meet Jessica Richens at the MOVE workshop December 16-18

Jessica began her dance training at age three in Southern California. Her main dance focus is in contemporary, jazz, jazz-funk, and ballet. She is now recognized for her professional strengths and her ability to demonstrate technique and movement with beauty.


As Season 11’s Second Runner-Up on the renowned FOX show, “So You Think You Can Dance”, she was selected for a 77-city, nationwide tour. She also appeared on SYTYCD’s Season 12 as an All-Star.


She has performed and appeared on two episodes of the “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and guest performed on Season 20’s “Dancing with the Stars”. She has appeared as a guest judge for the Miss Teen California Pageant and the LA KISS Girls. In addition, Jessica toured with “Radio City Christmas Spectacular” in the principal role as “Clara” on their 80 show run.


She has appeared in several commercials and music videos for artists such as Matt Cardle and upcoming artist, Julius. She is now an assistant for the traveling group, “KBM Talent”, touring the United States, Canada, and also Mexico.  Jessica also continues to model for dance and clothing companies such as Katrina Wear.


Jessica’s powerful drive, enchanting performance, and technical components have earned her numerous dance titles, awards, championship wins, and notoriety in the dance and media industry.

Jessica is another one of the amazing dancers coming to Creative Dance Center this December as part of TOKYOtheCOMPANY's MOVE Workshop.

Your dancer can be a part of the workshop and get exceptional training from Jessica and members of TOKYOtheCOMPANY at our Chantilly studio December 16-18.


All dancers who register will receive a ticket to TOKYOtheCOMPANY's showcase A CHANGE IS GONNA COME.



Smashing Walnuts Raffle Draws Amazing Generosity From CDC Families and Community

This year, our IPAY, CDC and Nutcracker Families were again given an opportunity to support Smashing Walnuts. We are joining their mission to raise awareness of, and funds for, finding a cure for pediatric brain cancer.We have been selling tickets and are showcasing all the wonderful trees and baskets in the raffle .

Thank you to our wonderful CDC families our local community and businesses who supported our efforts.


Our Clara basket is filled with Clara's Favorite Things and it wouldn’t be complete without her very own Nutcracker.


The Nutcracker basket has lots of nutcracker goodies: real and decorative nutcrackers, nutcracker sock, wine charms, ornaments, a story book and of course your very own walnuts to smash!


Our Let it Snow tree comes with a snowman and a snow globe.


There are baskets to represent teachers like the wonderful Mr. Noel basket that represents our fantastic Chantilly studio and Competition Team director.


Some of our competition teams donated colored theme baskets.


We have Snow Day Survival, a Candy basket, a Sugarplum basket, a Grown Up Christmas List tree, a Toy basket, an Angel basket and many more. You won't want to miss out!


There are over 25 trees/basket in the raffle. We hope you enjoy the show this weekend and come support such a worthy cause. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Winners will  be announced at the end of the last show today. You do not have to be present to win. Winners will also be posted on CDC's Facebook page and Instagram.
