Our Facilities Plenty of space for dancers to move and leap has always been a priority when chosing the space for both Creative Dance Center locations. The two CDC locations combined boast Northern Virginia's largest dance facilities at a total of almost 17,000 square feet and 10 dance rooms.
Chantilly
Creative Dance Center is in its 24th year of offering dance classes on Sullyfield Circle at the intersections of Routes 28 and 50 in Western Fairfax County. It is accessible via Centreville Road to Herndon, Franklin Farm and Oak Hill. Route 50 East connects it to Fair Lakes, Fairfax and Oakton. Route 50 West connects it to South Riding and Stone Ridge. Route 28 South allows for accessibility to Sully Station, Centreville, Virginia Run, Little Rocky Run and Clifton.
The Chantilly studio is 10,500 square feet of space with six professional dance rooms. They all have "floating floors" raised off of the cement, which is an important component in protecting dancers from impact related injuries. Marley floors on the raised subflooring allow for surface consistency, one type for ballet and another for tap and jazz. Full mirrors, ballet barres and sound systems equip the dance rooms. A study room and a snack room offer space for dancers to wind down between classes.
The Creative Dance for Children home office is in residence at the Chantilly location.
Ashburn
For years, Ashburn parents requested that CDC open a studio. However, owner Ramona Batchelder refused to move into a shopping center with limited space. She waited to find the right facility that would allow for large enough dance rooms. The first Ashburn location was on Ashburn Road in the Gordon Park Professional Park; with only two dance rooms it was outgrown after four years and CDC expanded into its current Ashburn location on Cape Court facing Loudoun County Parkway in Beaumeade. It is accessible via Route 7 to Sterling, Lowe's Island, Cascades, Landsdowne and Rivercreek. With the opening of Gloucester to Loudoun County Parkway, it is very close to Ashburn Village and Belmont Country Club. Waxpool Road connects it to Ashburn Farm and the Broadlands and Loudoun County Parkway connect it to Brambleton.
The Ashburn CDC has 6,400 square foot including four raised dance floors, a fantasy birthday party room and storage for Nutcracker in a Shell props and costumes! One way mirrors create viewing windows in each of the four dance rooms. Parents are able to observe their child’Äôs development without interrupting the class. Creative Dance Center has redefined Ashburn parents’Äô expectations of what a dance studio should offer.
