| Competition Team "Congratulations to the CDC Competition Team for achieving the ranking of Number One Competition Dance Studio in Virginia for 2008 by Dancer Magazine, however that is not the primary focus. More important is that the students receive a strong dance education and gain many of the benefits of participating on a dance team. These include team spirit, self confidence, hard work toward a mutual goal and support for other dancers." The Creative Dance Center Competition Team (CDC*CT) consists of approximately 140 boys and girls ranging in age from 4 to 18. The dancers compete in Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary. Required classes for CDC*CT members are ballet, jazz. and lyrical; tap is optional. Dancers should have a background in ballet and jazz in order to audition in June for the following year's team. Ask the Creative Dance Center directors about our audition preparation programs. The CDC*CT competes at various regional and national dance competitions and participates in conventions/ workshops. The team has won numerous top awards at both the Regional and National levels. Youth dancers on the team have won dance training scholarships at conventions/workshops. CDC*CT teachers have won choreography awards.
