Her training began in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she first began competing with Danceland School of Dance. In high school, Candace attended the Virginia Governor's School for the Arts, where she studied Musical Theater and served as the group's dance captain for 2 years.

While attending James Madison University, Candace was a member of the Dukettes, a very competitive and nationally ranked dance team. The Dukettes are a part of the award-winning JMU Marching Band, and compete yearly at the National Dance Alliance College Championship, where they are currently ranked 6th in the nation. She has also studied privately with Denise Wall at Denise Wall's Dance Energy as often as possible for the past 6 years.
